Since Opening its doors in 1964, The Indianapolis Zoo has hosted Millions of visitors and taught kids and adults alike valuable information about animals and their habitats as well as conservation. The Zoo is home to hundreds of Animals and several hands on exhibits so we want to take you on a fieldtrip to experiences animals and activities that we can’t get inside Studio Six! Today in the Zone we will be speaking with Maura Giles, Public Relations Specialist for the Indianapolis Zoo to find out what there is for families to do and see at the Zoo. We will also be catching up with Emily behind the scenes at the Walrus exhibit as she learns about the 3,000 lb. animals and what it takes to care for them. Do elephants eat peanuts, and are elephants really scared of a little mouse? Chad debunks these myths as he gets up close and personal with an elephant!
Last week
Indiana is known for its rich racing history with races such as the Indianapolis 500 and the Little 500 bike race, so today in the zone we are going to be taking a look at just a few of the races! Joining us today in the Friday Zone is young soap box derby racer Cooper Campbell as he gives Gabby, Chad and Emily a up close and personal look at a soap box derby car, and informs them on what it really takes to in the soap box derby! And also joining us in the Zone are racers from Delta Delta Delta Sorority as they inform us what it takes prep for the Little 500 Bike Race. And look closely, because one racer might look very familiar. We will also be taking a look at a brief history of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedways, as well as a famous female race car driver as former host Holly Gregory speaks with Indy Car racer Sarah Fisher in our Friday Zone Flashbacks. And racing can just be left to four wheels! We take a look back as Katie Sullivan followed a young triathlon racer as she swims, bikes and runs to the finish line. So Friday Zone viewers, race up your running shoes and start your engines because today we are going to be “Race Fans!”
