Why do you have to be a certain age to appear on the show?
THE FRIDAY ZONE’s content is primarily targeted toward elementary age children. However, we do hope that everyone who watches the show enjoys it. We try to have children within our target age range on the show, but specifically look for kids on the older end, meaning 8 - 12 year olds.
The kids who come on the program must be able to respond to questions with thorough answers, offer interesting comments and insight on the topics, and also ask thought-provoking questions. Although younger kids may be able to handle those requirements, we feel that older children have more experience with doing so.
Also, during our studio audience tapings, there is quite a bit of down time where the audience must watch the same material being taped over and over and wait for long periods for technical adjustments. The waiting is difficult for any age, especially for younger children.
