Think you’re too young for college? Think again! We challenged FRIDAY ZONE kids Rachel and Sarah to spend a day as college students. They went to classes, ate lunch at a sorority house, and even spent time in a dormitory. Watch and learn as the girls provide steps you should take when considering a trip to college.
We challenge you to go to college too. If you could pick any college, which one would you attend? Research the college’s web site and pick out three classes that you would like to take. Also, ask your parents if you can pay a visit to a local college. Most colleges offer tours and welcome students of ANY age to visit.
Elections aren’t just for adults. These kids ran in their school elections and now are able to make some important decisions that impact all of their classmates. Check out these kids and what they had to say about their official position. Also, listen-in as a State Representatives offers advice to kids who are considering putting their name on the ballot.
What do you think would be the most difficult part of running during an election? What are some changes that the class council members at your school are allowed to make?

We even turned it into a contest to see who could come up with the best homemade costume. Take a look at the winners and get some ideas for your next costume outing.
After watching, think about which costume you think you could make. If you’ve ever tried making your own costume in the past, what did you learn from the experience?
We challenged Jennifer and Raquel to start their own community newspaper. They received some helpful advice from a professional publisher from Bloomington’s Herald Times. They came up a list of helpful steps, should you decide to start write your own paper.
After watching, decide which area of creating the newspaper you would like the best and why. Who, in your neighborhood, would you like to interview? Who would you share that interview with?
What do you do with your allowance? We hope you save some of it. If you do, have you considered opening your own bank account? It’s not just for adults, you know. Check out Sarah’s experience of opening a savings account.
What are some of the things Dan Hunt mentioned you’ll need, should you decide to take the Banking Challenge?
We challenged Skyler to try a new sport. He chose rock climbing, with the help of Rock Climbing champion Tori Allen. Listen to Skyler talk about some of the things he learned, as well as hear his advice to you, should you decide to try rock climbing.
Have you ever tried a new sport? How does our experience compare to Skyler’s? What advice did Skyler and Tori offer that will help you, should you decide to take the New Sport Challenge?
