Kids take care of the compost bin.Students at Templeton Elementary found a great way to help their school and the environment through composting.

Every day, they take the fruits, vegetables, and breads that were left over from lunch out to a shed where they keep worms. They grind up the food, dump it into the bin, and cover it with newspaper. The worms eat the food and turn it into rich soil that can be sold.

The project keeps trash out of the landfills and raises money for the school.
