Meet a Family From Venezuela and Puerto Rico

The Hernandez FamilyThe Hernandez family visited the Family Zone and talked about two countries: Venezuela and Puerto Rico. Luis (the dad) is from an island off the coast of Venezuela and Lithia (the mom) is from Puerto Rico, so Enrique, Andres, and Marcos are all growing up learning about two countries and cultures.

Spanish is spoken in both Venezuela and Puerto Rico, so the Hernandez family speaks Spanish at home. Everyone in the Hernandez family speaks Spanish and English!

The Hernadez family brought in a 4 string guitar from Venezuela called a cuatio.

Luis also told us about a soft Venezuelan bread called arepa that all the Hernandezes like to eat.
