Occasionally on The Friday Zone we’ll meet a family who has come to Indiana from another country. They’ll tell us about their daily life, share some of their family traditions, and describe what life was like where they used to live. Let’s celebrate the diversity of our community in The Family Zone!

Meet a Family From South Korea

The Chois are a musical family from Seoul, South Korea. When they visited The Friday Zone, they played traditional Korean music called Samulnori. This music was developed in Korea by farmers celebrating their crops and harvests.

The four daughters of the Choi family are known as the Min Sisters because all of their names begin with Min. They can all speak Korean and English.

The Chois told us that they enjoyed hiking in the hills of Korea, and when they moved to Indiana they had to get used to hiking flat land.

They also brought recipes for kimchi, a traditional Korean dish made with cabbage.
