Occasionally on The Friday Zone we’ll meet a family who has come to Indiana from another country. They’ll tell us about their daily life, share some of their family traditions, and describe what life was like where they used to live. Let’s celebrate the diversity of our community in The Family Zone!

Meet a Family From Albania

Alma, Sorren, Aldridge, and Agron are from Durres, Albania. Albania borders the Adriatic Sea, and the Zajmis moved from there to Bloomington to live and work.

When they visited The Friday Zone, Sorren told us that he thought the pace of life in Albania was more peaceful than in America. In Albania, he had fewer after school activities and more time to spend with friends and family.

The Zajmis also said that they missed the Mediterranean food from Albania—especially good olives!

They keep in touch with friends and family in Albania through phone conversations and e-mail.
