If you LOVE to read and you’re a fan of Dr. Seuss, then this is the show for you!
Although Dr. Seuss’s first children’s book was titled And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street, it was his book The Cat in the Hat that launched Dr. Seuss to fame as a definitive children’s book author and illustrator.
In fact, Dr. Seuss’s impact was so great, that a reading task force at the National Education Association came up with a big idea that not only incorporated the written work of Dr. Seuss, but that also celebrated his March 2nd birthday. This group decided to create a day called Read Across America Day to “celebrate reading.”
In Katie’s opinion, a celebration of reading should be a year round event. Fortunately, since Dr. Seuss has written and illustrated 44 books for children, there’s PLENTY of reading material to keep readers young and old busy reading for a LONG TIME!
Come join Katie on a Friday Zone Field Trip to the Monroe County Public Library where something “Seusspicious” was going on, and meet magician Don Miller, a performer who was influenced by Dr. Seuss.
