Spring Has Sprung

April 24, 2009

I’m sure you’ll agree with Katie that it’s been a LONG winter…but spring has officially sprung!

This year the vernal equinox took place in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20th, 2009. The vernal equinox is considered the official start of spring.

Right now, our days are starting to grow longer, and it’s staying light out later.

Have you been noticing any signs of spring?

Katie has noticed some robins lately pulling worms from her yard. Tulips and daffodils, Katie’s FAVORITE FLOWERS, are starting to bloom. Katie recently traded in her heavy winter coat for a lighter jacket. This may sound funny, but sheep also trade in their heavy coats – their heavy WOOL coats, that is!

Come join us as we learn about sheep shearing at Sheep Street Fibers, Incorporated and learn about the hobby of kiting from Mark Kunoff, a member of the Hoosier Kitefliers Society on this epsiode of The Friday Zone!
