Maybe you have a grandparent or a parent who likes to knit for a hobby. Knitting isn’t a hobby just suitable for adults. The Friday Zone found some children who have become expert knitters, too. Join us on a Friday Zone Field Trip to University Elementary School where the 5th and 6th graders are busy Knitting for the Needy during a service learning project.

We are featuring the talents of not one, but two remarkable fiber artists in The Zone. Marla Dawson will show Katie, Hailea, and Allison how to spin raw wool into yarn with a spinning wheel. Martina Celerin will also join Katie and the girls to demonstrate how she weaves tapestries using a nail loom. Hoepfully these fiber artists will inspire you to do a little weaving on your own!
