Do you have what it takes to be a fashion designer? We challenged two kids, Kasirha and Jeanette, to find out this week in THE FRIDAY ZONE. They get some help from their Friday Zone Pro, Kate Rowold, who is an apparel merchandising professor and Indiana University.
We also explore ways to enhance our own clothes through shibori. This is an art form where you tie and dye your clothes. It was invented by Japanese artists a very long time ago. Garrett Nelson, an art student, will be on-hand to demonstrate this simple technique that will give plain tee-shirts and other clothing a cool look.
Keeping with our fashion theme, we are going to make some jewelry in ZONE. Natalie O’Neal, another art student, will offer tips on using beads to make necklaces and bracelets. There are great tools out there that make it a creative and fun project for kids. So check out this very fashionable show.
