On The Friday Zone

Double Dose

April 28, 2006

Friday Zone kids, Susan and Shelby, explore book options with librarian, Ellen Arnholter. This week in the ZONE, we challenged two girls, Susan and Shelby, to start a book club. They met with a librarian, Ellen Arnholter, who provided steps to running a successful club. The girls and their FRIDAY ZONE Pro will be on the show to encourage you to start a book club with this information.

Also, Susan and Shelby and two of their friends have their first book club meeting in the ZONE. Join Echo, the girls and Ellen for a review of “Never Mind,” a book by Avi and Rachel Vail.

You’ll also meet Ryan and Arin. Their challenge this week was to learn what their lives would have been like one hundred years ago. What toys did kids play with? What clothes did kids wear? Their job was to get the scoop first hand from some people who lived in the early 1900s. Evelyn Harte and Marvin Carmack, both in their nineties, will be on hand with the kids to offer a glimpse into the past. We’re double the fun with two challenges this week in the ZONE, so be sure to check it out!
