On The Friday Zone

A Time to Rhyme

March 3, 2006

Friday Zone kids create a hand-clapping gameIt’s Recess in the Zone today! We’re going to have fun learning what playground games you play. We have challenged some kids to create brand new hand-clapping and jump rope games. Lilly and her sister Ashley, and friends Meredith, Amanda, and Erica will premiere their new games right here on The Friday Zone.

They had some help from Abbie Anderson, a curator for the Mather’s Museum. She joins us to share some interesting facts about the playground games we play, such as how they came about, what they reveal about the past, and how they’ve changed over time.

Before we go, we’ll show you how to make your action figures fly! Echo and kids make parachutes out of everyday materials found around the house. Join us for a hand-clapping, jump-roping, Para-trooping good time in the Zone!
