On The Friday Zone

Summer Fun

June 3, 2005

Aquatics expert Terese Schurger teaches Echo and a few Friday Zone kids about water safety. The Friday Zone explores ways to help you have fun this summer. First on the list is summer reading. Librarian Patti Callison recommends ways to take a summer adventure through books. She even shares with Echo and Friday Zone kids, Ethan and Jeanette, several great summer reads.

Also, when you are out splashing in a pool or lake this summer, we want you to be safe. Therefore, aquatics expert Terese Schurger pays a visit in the Zone to talk about water safety.

The Friday Zone is on boredom-patrol. So, with the help of some young Friday Zone guests, we offer two cool long-term projects that you can enjoy throughout the summer. Lois shares her passion for quilt making, and Casey tells us about his model kit hobby.

And lastly, The Friday Zone still takes time to remember our teachers this summer. We pay tribute to the Monroe County Educator of the Year. The honor goes to Gaye Hudson a teacher from Arlington Heights Elementary School in Bloomington.
