On The Friday Zone

Making History

May 20, 2005

Friday Zone guest Trevor demonstrates a trick on the rail as Echo and Frank look on.What was it like to live in Indiana thousands of years ago? How about hundreds of years ago? This week, The Friday Zone explores the people of Indiana’s history. Gail Brown from the Indiana State Museum pays a visit to the Zone. He uncovers the evolution of the Native American culture from just after the ice age to the present. He does so, by sharing some of the artifacts found over the last 12,000 years.

Also, Elaine Rosa from the Indiana Historical Society will help us take a look at what life was like for the early settlers. What made Indiana such a great place to live and what were some of the challenges common to the settlers? Those are just a few questions that we’ll explore.

Lastly, The Friday Zone checks out the extreme sport of skateboarding. Two skateboarding youth, Frank and Trevor, will be here to show us how they glide, jump, and stay right-side-up. They’ll offer tips on how you can get started and even Echo gives skateboarding a try.
