
Monster Jug Heads
Supplies You Will Need:
- Gallon plastic milk jugs
- 8 oz. bottles of acrylic paint (black, green, white, orange)
- Paint brushes
- Permanent marker (can be black for all faces except the black cat)
- plastic cups for neck (holder of counter top jugs
- String of white lights for hanging jugs
- Hand drawn designs printed (Frankenstein, Cat, Skull, Pumpkin)
- Cups or bowls for paint
- Duct tape
Instructions:
- Print sketch of monster jug heads off the website to use as a guide.
- If you want to make a hanging jughead the jug’s lid should still be the top of the face. If you want to make a counter top jug head, then the lid will be the bottom of the face. To make a monster jug head, turn over the jug and rest it in a plastic cup. Tape the jug to the container with duct tape.
- Paint the outside of the jug entirely with the base color (Frankenstein-green, Cat-black, Skull-white, Pumpkin-orange).
- Let dry for 2 hours.
- When dry, use the permanent marker and the Friday Zone completed pictures to see how to draw the faces (eyes, mouths, scars, noses, etc.)
- Paint over the drawn designs with the acrylic paint.
- Cat: white eyes, nose, whiskers, ears, mouth; green pupils
- Pumpkin: black eyes, nose, mouth
- Frankenstein: black hair, scars, nose, mouth, pupils; white eyes
- Skull: black eyes, nose, mouth
- Let dry for 2 hours.
- If you made a monster jug head, set inside a paper cut filled with rocks.you’re finished.
- With the hanging lights, use #7 lights or smaller. Use black tape to tape lights inside the mouth of the jug.
