Nest Nibblers

Items You Will Need:

  • 2 cups crumbled shredded wheat cereal
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of marshmallow fluff
  • Candy resembling eggs (jellybeans, malted balls, chocolate-covered peanuts, etc.)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • 2 large mixing bowls (also spoons or forks to stir mixture)
  • Muffin pan
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions:

  1. Place a sheet of aluminum foil over the entire muffin pan, making sure to push it down into each indentation. This will help you easily remove the nests after they’ve cooled.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave oven for 60 seconds at 70% power.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mix the melted chocolate and 1 cup of the shredded wheat together.
  4. Working fast, put a few spoonfuls of the chocolate/shredded wheat mixture into each cup of the muffin pan, forming little nests.
  5. Repeat steps 2 – 4 with marshmallow fluff. Microwave fluff for 30 seconds on 50% power.
    For lighter colored nest. Add yellow or green food coloring for brighter nests.
  6. Place a few egg-shaped candies in each nest.
  7. Allow to cool in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
